MÉLIÈS D'OR AWARDS

For the fourth consecutive year, the Sitges – International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia organizes the award ceremony of the Méliès d’Or.

The Méliès d’Or and Méliès d’Argent prizes are awarded each year to the best European feature and short fantastic films. These awards are a recognition of their quality and creativity levels and generate unique visibility for films and their directors. The awards are awarded by the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF)

Lucile Hadzihalilovic will receive Sitges 2021 Career Prize, delivered by the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF). After graduating from the Paris Institute des Hautes Études Cinématographiques, she began her career in film as a director, writer, editor and actress in feature and short films. In 2004, she debuted with her first film, Innocence, which was awarded in San Sebastián and became one of the most evocative fantasy films of the time. Her second work, Evolution (2015), was in charge of closing the Noves Visions section in Sitges, a film that confirmed her as one of the most fascinating and personal voices of European Fantastic. This year she will present Earwig (2021).
